Gayton

This kitchen was designed for an older couple, with accessibility in mind. The cabinets were hand made from birch ply, raised up higher than normal and all designed with fully extending drawers for easy access to those things that would otherwise languish at the back of a cupboard. There is an integrated Fisher Paykel drawer dishwasher, and freezer drawer, and a large larder fridge from the Corner Fridge Company. All of the panels, drawer fronts and doors were hand made from birch ply with solid elm edging then laminated with Formica, front and back and a chamfer detail added. The worktops and frames show off the beautiful grain patterns and warm honey colours of the solid elm from which they are made. Hand crafted solid oak shelves and solid oak plate racks with dowel cup hooks, wrap around the corner above the worktop. Solid oak open shelving stands on the floor under the side window, providing display storage for crockery and cookware.
